Antique Ivory Walking Cane Handle

Walking cane shaft was replaced on a customer’s early 19th century Ivory walking cane handle, the original shaft was cracked and worn and was to thin for use as a walking cane. The customer wanted a modern stronger walking shaft because he planned on use this cane quite often, so it needed to be functional. We decided to go with Cocobolo wood walking cane shaft with brass collars, notice the double taper it starts out narrow to fit the handle correctly and tapers wider to a brass collar than tapers down to the tip.

Ivory and Buffalo walking cane handle found in re-use type store, what a great find on what I estimated to be from the mid 70's. a threaded mount was already in place I just had to make the walking cane shaft and a custom brass collar accents the transition from the handle to the Rosewood shaft.
